Torres del Paine

There were 4 major parts to our trip. In this the first we visited both the Western and Eastern sections of the park.

First Stop was Salte Grande and Mirador Cuernos or “view of the horns”.

We spent our time here at Lago Grey and hiking not far from the hotel.

After checking out we caught the 9:30 catamaran across Lake Pehoe and started our 13 mile hike up 2,000 ft up to the look out of French Valley. Passed one of the campgrounds for those doing the circuit, but we had to rush to get the boat back to our car.

If you camp besure you have reservations…there are also reserved spots in several Refugios.

The drive east was equally spectacular. As was our exploring around our new hotel Las Torres. It’s really a riders paradise though we didn’t get on horses. We did see Flamingoes, ostriches and visited Lago Azul and got great view of the “3 Towers”,
