This is our half-way point celebration. Patti and I stayed at the top during a Thunderstorm many years ago. The hotel has tiny double rooms with just a basin and a pitcher of water. Ours looked out over the valley. We will have a lovely dinner together. There are two ways to get to the top: 1) Riding the train up to Wilderswil and up to Schynige Platte, this has nice 6.3Mi hike above 2,000m. 2) Ride the train or hike to Grindelwald and take the lift up to First and then a 3.5Mi hike. Neither hike is difficult to the Faulhorn.
