If on Day 7 we hiked out to Rotstockhutte to overnight, we just have to hike back. Mostly downhill now, and just a couple of hours walk. Corrie and Thom who hiked the day before over Hohturli and on to Gspaltenhornhutte will have to do the hike up to the hutte, but plan to spend most of the day in the Glacier Region. They will join us on Day 9 again. BTW. One can hike directly down from Spielbodenalp to Gimmelwald or take the lift from Murren.
Once we are at Murren or Gimmelwald we can take train/lifts/train to Berghaus Alpiglen. From Murren take the train to Grütschalp – Winteregg, then down to Lauterbrunnen and connect by train to Kleine Scheidegg or Grindelwald, then on the Alpiglen. I recommend hiking down from Kleine Scheidgegg.
